Ocean State Curling club was formed in April 2009 with the intention of bringing curling back to Rhode Island. After a successful Open House and Learn to Curl program, the Board of Directors found ice time at St. George’s School in Middletown for our inaugural 2009-2010 season. After two season in Middletown, the club league curling was moved to Veterans Memorial Arena in Cranston and play was moved to Friday evenings. The 2013-2014 curling season will remain in Cranston and is scheduled to start in early October. The club's fifth season will offer league curling on both Thursday and Friday evenings. You can choose which night you would like to play, or you can opt to curl on both nights. Try it and we're sure... you will love curling!
Membership options for the 2013-2014 curling season, beginning in October 2013, will be available soon. Membership registration will begin in September.
Club membership entitles members to GNCC/USCA membership, club membership privileges, website access, sub opportunities in each league, opportunity to join any league (additional league fee required) and use of ice for practise/pick-up curling when available. NOTE: Because sub privileges are now included in your membership fee, there is no longer a separate fee for subbing.
Trial club membership entitles first time curlers who have participated in a Learn to Curl or new club members who have previously curled with another club to all the privileges of a full club membership. One night per week of league curling (choice of Fall or Winter league) is included at no additional charge. Trial members may join a second night per week of league curling at the regular league fee. Trial membership is available to a member only once and is not available to former OSCC members.
Available to curlers aged 16-21. Curlers under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by an adult. Junior membership entitles the member to the same privileges of full club membership. Junior members may join any league at the regular league fee.
Curl in a league one night per week October - December 2012. Choice of Thursday or Friday night. Add a second night of league curling for an additional $75, subject to availability after full paying members have been placed. To guaruntee entry to a second night of curling, the fee is $125.
